NBA Playoffs, NFL Bounty Controversy, and the Terrible Blunder

NBA

Last nights game between the Hawks and Celtics was a pull away and come close game similar to the Lakers and Nuggets game afterwards. Good game on both sides but last second decisions from Rajon Rondo cost the Celtics game 5. Yes he gets 60% of the blame for dribbling the ball so long as he tried to speed around Al Horford in the corner but his tough defense stopped Rondo dead in his tracks. Paul Pierce's poor shot selection that would have initially gave Boston a 1 point lead with less than 20 seconds to go. I don't think Boston will lose this series in the midst of their past and present problems with the Atlanta Hawks. I guarantee you the Celtics will close out Atlanta and game 6 and go on to face the winner of the 76ers/Bulls series.

Bynum who?
Andrew Bynum

Last nights Lakers and Nuggets game came down to a shootout thriller with Kobe droppin buckets on the Nuggets in the 4th quarter. Kobe finished with 43 pts in a 99-102 loss to the Nuggets to force a game 6 back in Denver, but that wasn't the main focus of yesterday's game. Andrew Bynum had to run his mouth at morning shoot around yesterday saying that it would be easy for the Lakers to close out the Nuggets if they come out and play hard........ But Bynum spoke waaaaaay to soon and was non existent on the court for the Lakers. Like seriously where was Bynum yesterday? He made Javale McGee look like Hakeem Olajuwon last night. He was outrebounding the Lakers dunking on them and catching lobs from half court........ Ans where was Bynum..... Chillin on the top key of the post looking on. Kenny Faried and Javale McGee both had double doubles and Andre Miller got to the rim with ease and Bynum was right in the center of the key. Just move around alter the damn shot and get the rebound how hard can that be? You were runner up for most improved player and was ballin in the latter stages of the season. Had a trouble double game 1 just play your ass off and the Lakers are shoe ins for this series. But yesterdays effort was a disgrace. T'd up for pushing Faried, lack of rebounding, and terrible defense just made Bynum look like the immature player he is. Its been a up and down career for Bynum. He has been suspended a few times for flagrant fouls, run-ins with Laker management and knee injuries seem to derail his career. He is a good player, but unpredictable at times. He is the center piece of the Lakers puzzle, Kobe can't do it all. Just keep your composure come out and play the 36 minutes you average and the Lakers will be fine. But I don't know bout Bynum his behavior tends to be  a risk and maybe last nights game will swing the momentum to Denver who plays game 6 at home. Only time will tell, but on the safe side you Laker fan better pray that Bynum brings his A game before it be a game 7 and a possible loss and I don't remember a time where the Lakers had a first round exit in a long time..... dating back to the Dell Harris era.

76ers and Bulls
That game was pretty boring but the short handed Bulls forced a game 6. I don't expect the Bulls to advance to round 2 but Thursday will be the last of Chicago expect a big game from Jrue Holiday and Evam Turner to force the Bulls out the picture

Tonight games

Heat vs Knicks
The Miami Heat are at home and they will take NY out of their misery tonight. Melo is gonna get off 30 or more shots but his effort will not be enough for NY to win unless the Big 3 fails to show up tonight....which I seriously doubt so to Spike Lee sooooo long homie LOL

Grizzlies and Clippers
I swear the refs are giving the LA Clippers this series. All these flops and bullshit ticky tack fouls are in LA's favor. I expect the Grizzlies to win tonight and force a game 6 in LAC vs the Clips and the refs. This series should have been over with a clean sweep but unfortunately that is not the case. A 27 pt 4th quarter collapse and bad calls in game 3, and 4 gave the Clippers the advantage...... I hope the Grizzlies pull a 2003 Pistons run like they did the Magic being down 1-3 and coming back to win the series. I just hope LEGGO GRIZZLIES

MLB

I like and admire Josh Hamilton for all that he went through. The 1 time MVP and 4 time all star has overcame many obstacles. He was suspended by the MLB for testing positive for drugs and alcohol. He was out of baseball for 3 years and was on the road to destruction. Hamilton has been clean for the past 6 years and have became one of baseball's premiere players. He is a walking testimony and god has blessed him throughout this rough journey. I wish him the best and extend my sincere wishes to Mr Hamilton and also to the Texas Rangers organization for being patient and supporting Mr Hamilton throughout his recovery.
Josh Hamilton became the 16th player in Major League history to hit 4 home runs in 1 game. Last night against the Baltimore Orioles, Hamilton hit 4 hrs and drove in 8 runs to help the Rangers defeat the Orioles. In the middle of a contract year hopefully the Rangers pays him what he deserve cause he definitely deserves it.

NFL
Cris Carter vs Bill Romanowski

Since the Saints bounty controversy there have been a few former NFL players admitting to participating in bounties at one point in their careers. Not until Monday former Vikings great Cris Carter admitted to playing a bounty on Bill Romanowski after he threatened to hurt Carter during pre-game warm-ups many years ago. Carter gave a very detailed incident that occurred in which Romanowski later refuted, and also gave the actual reward if the bounty to was carried out. I do believe Carter in this case because Romanowski has history of violence on the field. Its quite entertaining to say the least but expect more confessions of bounties to come out within the next few weeks.

NHL

I honestly feel bad for Philadelphia Flyers goalie IIlya Bryzgalov and his epic puck clearing that cost Philadelphia the game after Devils right winger David Clarkson. I feel for that guy it was like a Bill Buckner 86 moment on ice. I know people in Russia are upset at him and the Flyer community in Philadelphia is PO'd at him. He was the joke of all sports analyst today and its gonna sting all summer :( tough luck Flyers next time just hold the puck until the play is called dead.

Fun Stuff

Whats the greatest team to never win a NBA championship? There are quite a few but I came up with some that will def top the list of greatest fails of all-time

1. The 2000's Sacramento Kings

Led by Chris Webber, Mike Bibby and veteran big man Vlade Divacs and a great supporting cast. The early 2000's Kings are one of them. They were entertaining to watch a great pg in Bibby a combo guard in Doug Christie, The scoreing SF Stojakovic and Webber. And they had a bench in Bobby Jackson, Hedo Turkoglu and L. Funderburk the Kings were one of the favorites out west but Rick Adelman's troops could never get past Los Angeles Lakers. They go down as one of the most greatest teams to never win it all

2. 1994-96 New York Knicks

The NY Knicks were a defense minded team and had the scoring to back it up. Led by Hall of Fame C Patrick Ewing the badboys of the mid-90' were never able to get past Indiana, Houston, Chicago and Orlando. They had a load of veteran players on that team and were coached by Pat Riley and later Jeff Van Gundy. The defense core of Mason, Harper, Smith, Starks and Anthony always fell short in the playoffs and were never able to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy. Its to bad Pat could never get his ring with the Knicks but they were up there but never could get MJ, Shaq and Hakeem.

3. 1987-88 Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks led by scoring machines Rolando Blackman and Mark Aguirre could never get past Los Angeles Lakers in the late 80's. The Mavs had a loaded roster consisted of big men James Donaldson, Uwe Blab, Roy Tarpley and Sam Perkins. Backup players such as Detlef Shrempf, Brad Davis and Steve Alford the Mavs were one of the contenders of the West. Unfortunately the Lakers spoiled their hopes after they defeated Dallas in 7 games and went on to win the NBA finals that year. Shortly after that year the Mavericks split up the players and they went into a dry spell for many years.

4. 2005-2006 Phoenix Suns

The Suns were soooo much fun to watch back in the mid 2000's. I used to watch them play every Thursday on TNT. The Amar'e and Steve Nash duo was the best go to combo in all of basketball. Plus the had the supporting class of young players. LeAndro Barbosa, Joe Johnson, James Jones, Quinten Richardson, Shawn Marion, Boris Diaw and veteran Jim Jackson and finished with the best record in the West at 62-20. They were shoe ins to win it all but both years they were ousted by Dallas and San Antonio and the era of the Suns collapsed. RIP to the funnest team ever

5. 96-98 Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz was a veteran savvy team back in the 90's. Malone and Stockton best duo in NBA history behind Pip and Jordan were determined to get their first rings but 2 years in a row they ran into the Chicago Bulls and lost both times 4-2. They were fun to watch because the were great passers and played great D the also were the elder statesmen in the NBA with Ty Corbin, Jeff Hornacek, Antoine Carr, Malone and Stockton were well over 34 at the time weew able to breeze past the young and upcoming west and make their presence in the finals. Sadly Sloan, Malone and Stockton didn't get that ring and fall under the greatest teams to never win it :(
