Notable Games Feb 2nd
LA Clips vs Denver Nuggets
The 2010's version of Kemp-Payton make line up against the young Nugget squad for a Wester Conference battle. This should be an exciting game if you wanna see a NBA jam session tune into TNT tonight at 10:30.................. And do the Clippers ever play a game away from Staples? It seems like they never have a road game.
Atlanta vs Memphis
Should be a good game inspite of my initial pick of the Bulls and Knicks. Atlanta making their mark in the southeast division looks to push ahead of Miami for the division lead.
Rumors
Kenyon Martin and Joel Pryzbilla being courted by the Miami Heat. I do not like the Heat but if both guys are in dire need of winning a championship then your best bet is to sign with the Heat. Miami is lacking a big man and a defensive presence from the bench so both bigs would be a great addition to the Miami Heat.
My Pistons rant
These past 3 NBA seasons have been very miserable for me, seeing my beloved Pistons go from an elite team to the laughing stock of the NBA. Everytime I watch the Pistons we get our asses kicked by 20+ points. Bad defensive by the whole team and never the less horrible shot selection by just about every player. It hurts to the core to the point I don't even care to watch them anymore. Im a loyal fan and I support my team through the ups and downs, but this losing drought has to come to an end. We are currently 2nd worst team in the NBA next to Charlotte and I don't see no end in sight with a tough schedule. All I can do is reminisce from 2002-2008 when we were winners. Those were the best times of my life, a team you love so much is on top of the league I couldn't ask for nothing more. I remember being a Pistons fan as far as 1995, Allen Houston had just left and we started a rebuilding phase. We had Grant Hill, Joe Dumars was aging and Lindsey Hunter was running point we was a ok team that managed to make it to the first round but never advanced any further. I remember when Jerry Stackhouse came in 98, I thought he and Grant Hill would be a great scoring tandem similar to Alex English and Kiki Vandeweigh in the 80's little to no avail those 4 seasons we made the playoffs three times losing in the first round twice and to Boston in the second round in 01. That off-season I remember we traded away everybody. First we trades Grant Hill to Orlando for little known Ben Wallace and next we traded Jerry Stack to Washington for Richard Hamilton. I thought Dumars was crazy, I never heard of none of those guys. We added some veterans that off-season too. We signed Dana Barros a journeymen point guard. Danny Manning, and the sharp shooter John Barry. We drafted Tayshaun Prince and signed Chauncey Billups. I thought this was a disaster but we had a great yr finishing 50-32 and making it to the 3rd round before losing to New Jersey. For once I had hope in my team. We started off the 2003-2004 on a strong note but at the NBA trade deadline we had our mark of the season when we acquired both Mike James and Rasheed Wallace from Atlanta this trade was vital to the Pistons championship run. When we made the playoffs I didn't know what to expect. What got past Milwaukee in 5, the next series we faced the team that eliminated us the year prior and took New Jersey out in 7. 3rd round we faced our division rivals the Indiana Pacers beat them in 6 and finally the long awaited appearance to the NBA finals. I was living in the metro-Detroit area at the time and it was crazy. I remember everybody at school had the playoff run tee shirts. My most favorite was "Need for Sheed" Rasheed Wallace's guarantees to win every game that playoff yr was a hit. It brought the community together cause we had something to cheer about for once. The Tigers and Lions wasn't shit during that time and the NHL was under lockout so our Red Wings weren't playing so all we had was our Pistons to cheer for. But we had to get past Los Angeles Lakers........ I hated those guys and till this day I still do. They signed Gary Payton and Karl Malone the off-season before so they were heavily favored. But the underdog comes on top we won game 1 dropped game 2 and won 3,4,5 to knock off the Lakers. I remember how happy I was man I was in joy. I was hoping we can repeat in 2005. We'll we had high hopes we signed Antonio McDyess after we lost Mehmet Okur so he we won't miss the PF off the bench we had a great year and once again found ourselves in the NBA finals oncemore. This time we faced Tim Duncan and the Spurs it was a hard fought series and it went to 7 games. I remember the game like it was yesterday we were beating the Spurs by as much as 17 and unfortunately we blew the lead and they beat us......... I was pissed that night but hey at least we made it. The next few yrs we finished strong in the regular season and lost in the 3 rd of the playoffs to Miami, Cleveland and Boston respectively. We went 6 yrs straight making it to the 3rd round and after the 2008 year we just fell off. At the beginning of the 08-09 years Dumars traded Billups to Denver for Allen Iverson. I was shocked but yet I was happy hoping that A.I. can lead us to the promise land once again. We had a terrible coach in Michael Curry, A.I. didn't live to the hype and we had a off season making it as a 8th seed and getting swept by Cleveland in the 1st round. Since then we been terrible. No playoffs appearances. Players beefin with management and lack of motivation we tumbled to the very bottom. Our biggest free-agent signings have not lived up to the expectations and we continue to struggle both on the court and off it. The Palace was once a packed house and broke a record for the most sellouts, but now its a empty house with few fans driving to Auburn Hills to see a game. All we have left is memories we look into the rafters and see our championship banners from years before, but as of now I must support my team through its downslide. Maybe one day we can be on top again maybe one day, once we fire Joe Dumars.
DEEEEEETROIT BASKETBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL

MLB
Edwin Jackson signed with the Nationals smh. I was hoping he'd come to Detroit and be our 5th starter.
Fun Stuff
If you ever watched ESPN's series 30 for 30 films they have some interesting people showcased on that show. I found somebody I think would be a great showing for the upcoming season 30 for 30 films. Pascual Perez was a pitcher from the Dominican Republic, who pitched with the Pirates, Braves, Expos and the Yankees. He had the talent to be a great pitcher but his career was derailed by drug problems that later ended his career in 1992. The guy just had the image the gold teeth, 15 chains danglin off his neck, the jheri curls and the wild antics when he struck somebody out. Tell me he shouldn't be showcased on 30 for 30. He had a crazy story. He got lost trying to find his way to the stadium and missed his start. In 1984 he missed 2 months of the season caused he was locked in prison in the Dominican Republic for cocaine charges. He touched off a massive brawl with the San Diego Padres. He went AWOL quite a bit with the Expos. He tested positive for cocaine 3 times and was in and out of rehab. That's one hell of a journey LOL
Just look at the guy he got that "I wanna be on 30 for 30" films look
